What is a Settlement Agreement?

It is an agreement between an employer and an employee which is legally binding. The Settlement Agreement will require you to obtain independent legal advice from a Solicitor.

We will sit down with you and discuss with you all the legal consequences of the agreement at what can be a stressful time. It may be as the result of redundancy and we will make sure that your position is protected as fully as possible.

What pays for the legal advice?

Normally your employer will as part of reaching an agreement cover the cost of any legal fees. It is in the interests of your employer to reach an agreement with you which will be legally binding and so they will normally cover the costs.
